Peek-a-Boo, I Sea You

Katie went to the aquarium yesterday with Meme, Papa, Hope, Uncle Heath, and me. Meme and Papa bought her this t-shirt since Katie has starting singing the song, I See You, from her music class.

Thanks, Aunt Jenny

Katie finally wore the dress Pat, Jennifer, Andrea, and Madison gave her for her birthday. It took her a few months to grow into it, but fits perfectly now. I think she looks very mod.
Katie was a little surprised to notice patent flip flops had been put on her feet. She convinced someone in the church nursery to take them off for her. When we picked her up after the worship service, her bare feet were as black as soot.
Mr. Bear has begun regular attendance at our church. It is good for him to get out of the house and meet other loveys.

Say It Ain't Sew

After just two sewing lessons from Katie's Grandma, I made the skirt and fish applique the baby supermodel below is wearing. Katie opted to wear purple shoes. I wanted her to wear her white sandals, but figured I shouldn't push my luck since she wore the homemade clothes without complaint. Now I just have to decide what I will sew next. Anybody want a custom made scrunchie?
Katie points at her tummy and says, "fish!" My homemade clothing is educational, functional, and cute.
Katie is holding a piece of mulch in her hand. On the way to the car she noticed some of the mulch was scattered in the grass. She spent a little while straightening things up by carefully placing the little pieces of bark back under the tree where most of the mulch had been piled.

Bows are Bad

I want Katie to be one of those little girls with the matchy-matchy head to toe outfits. She is having no part in this. Three times I tried to stick the precious ladybug hairbow in her hair. Three times she removed it. This is after church. Look how free she is without bow, shoes, and bracelet!
She smiles like her Mommy! I can't wait until Jon starts telling her to "be normal" in pictures!

Remember (to go to) the Alamo!

Here are a few picks from our 4th of July weekend trip to San Antonio. We stayed with my friend, Lauren's parents. They live just outside of San Antonio in a beautiful home surrounded by trees. We got too busy and hot to make the trek to the Alamo, but Katie had the best time visiting with Keegan, one of Lauren's nephews.

K & K checking out the view. I am sure they are hatching a plan to escape and climb that tree.

What a sweet helper!

I had to include this picture since it appears that I am running just a bit faster than Ryan, a Boston Marathon runner!
