Farmer's Market Menu and Lil Ton of Fun goes to Church

This weekend we celebrated Grandmoochie's birthday with a farmer's market inspired dinner.  Great idea Aunt A!  It was a delicious meal and fun celebration.  We were in stitches over Grandpa's 45 question quiz to find out how well each of us knew the birthday girl.  Ton of Fun was declared the winner.  What a good son!
Lil TOF telling Mad Dog how excited she is about the first birthday party she's attended!

Here's the menu from our dinner.  Be prepared to be jealous...

pita chips with artichoke bruschetta
baby carrots and ranch dip
crispy chicken
lemon meringue pie

Also this weekend, TOF and I decided we needed to be more conscientious about documenting Lil TOF's firsts.  Well, last Sunday was Lil TOF's first time to go to church.  After feeding and clothing, ourselves and the girls, we completely forgot to snap a picture.  So in an effort to document Lil Sis' life at least half as well as Big TOF's, here (drum roll please) are pictures from this morning.  Lil TOF's 2nd time to go to church!

Sunday Report Card

Papa calls every Sunday to get the report on Katie's total crying time in the nursery. You know we've had some bad weeks if this has become a regular call! If you don't count the crying in the car on the way to church, or the wailing in the parking lot, then today's 5 minute total is not too shabby. That's a 2 hour and 55 minute reduction from her greatest crying triumph at VBS. The picture is after church. Once we pick her up, it's like the tears never happened.

Can you believe this mess?

I love this picture! Katie seems surprised, or proud, by the mess she has made in the office.

Jon likes this one.

The picture of Katie in black & white shows how much she is growing. Her regular length pants are turning in to capris.

The photos of her and the big bear are from her fun time spending the night with Uncle D, Aunt A, Em, and Mad Dog. Katie seemed indifferent towards us when we came to get her. I think that means she had a really good time. It looks like Madeleine was entertaining Katie while she ate.

Brown clad Katie is the latest installment in the "What Katie Wore to Church" feature on this blog.

Thanks, Aunt Jenny

Katie finally wore the dress Pat, Jennifer, Andrea, and Madison gave her for her birthday. It took her a few months to grow into it, but fits perfectly now. I think she looks very mod.
Katie was a little surprised to notice patent flip flops had been put on her feet. She convinced someone in the church nursery to take them off for her. When we picked her up after the worship service, her bare feet were as black as soot.
Mr. Bear has begun regular attendance at our church. It is good for him to get out of the house and meet other loveys.

Bows are Bad

I want Katie to be one of those little girls with the matchy-matchy head to toe outfits. She is having no part in this. Three times I tried to stick the precious ladybug hairbow in her hair. Three times she removed it. This is after church. Look how free she is without bow, shoes, and bracelet!
She smiles like her Mommy! I can't wait until Jon starts telling her to "be normal" in pictures!

Happy Katie

When Jon picked Katie up from the nursery at church today, they called her "Happy Katie". He said she was sitting in a chair clapping. Boy, has she come a long way from the nursery weeper she was.

The picture is after we got home. She is still wearing her bracelet which is as amazing as her being referred to as "Happy Katie".

This is the Way We Get Dressed Up So Early Sunday Morning

Here is Katie dressed up for church. Great news - She only cried half of the time she was in the nursery!! Way to go, Katie!!
