Making a lemon poppy seed cake for Grandma's belated birthday celebration, Katie uses the mixer for the very first time!

Do you watch the Next Food Network Star? It's my favorite show! For those of you that do not watch it, each contestant is required to concisely express their culinary point of view. Katie's culinary point of view is, "I can do it myself. Mommy, you don't help." She yelled at me when I tried to help. She can do so much by herself these days.



Yes, the mixer is on. Katie's whole body was vibrating from it's power, but she takes her baking very seriously and would not let go.

The second picture is included so you know how close by I was and so you can wonder about my outfit. Yep, it's a tank tucked into soffe shorts. It's my Saturday style. I rock the fashion world!

Sunday Report Card

Papa calls every Sunday to get the report on Katie's total crying time in the nursery. You know we've had some bad weeks if this has become a regular call! If you don't count the crying in the car on the way to church, or the wailing in the parking lot, then today's 5 minute total is not too shabby. That's a 2 hour and 55 minute reduction from her greatest crying triumph at VBS. The picture is after church. Once we pick her up, it's like the tears never happened.

Taking Care of "Business"

I had to bribe her with her weight in M & M'S and Dum Dum Pops, but Katie now does her "business" in the potty (mostly). We are all so proud!

Less is More, More is Less, More or Less

Katie and I have been working on these flower hair clippies for her and a couple of her friends. Each completed one had to be instantly clipped in her hair.



She wanted me to take her picture when she had them all attached. But she didn't want to stand still or look at the camera.



I told her she HAD to sit in her chair for one picture. Here is the look I got:
